Recently named "Best Female Singer" by the Oper! Awards, American soprano Corinne Winters has been hailed by The New York Times as “an outstanding actress" while The Guardian praised her "gorgeous tone." Her seasons are comprised of productions at the world's top opera companies, such as The Royal Ballet and Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, and the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, where her "capacity to adapt to very different types of productions" (Le Temps) is prized by leading directors such as Barrie Kosky, Dmitri Tcherniakov, and Krzysztof Warlikowski. Known as one of today's leading interpreters of Slavic and Italian verismo repertoire, her signature roles include Káťa Kabanová, Madama Butterfly, Jenůfa and Suor Angelica.

Corinne’s 2026/27 season begins with her house debut at Dutch National Opera as Nedda in Pagliacci, before returning to the Janáček Brno Festival for productions of her signature roles Jenůfa and Káťa Kabanová. She then makes her debut at Opéra national de Paris as Káťa, before reprising the role at the Royal Ballet & Opera. The season also marks her debut as the title role in Samuel Barber’s Vanessa at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, as well as house debuts with the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Mimì in La bohème, and the Hungarian State Opera as the title role in Madama Butterfly. Additional operatic engagements include concert performances of Moniuszko’s Halka at the Central Square of Music Festival in Warsaw, and Jenůfa with the Bamberger Symphoniker. Also in concert, Corinne performs Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder with the Oslo Philharmonic, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and joins the New York Philharmonic on tour for Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. She performs in recital at the Janáček Brno Festival with pianist David Mareček, presenting a program of Dvořák, Kaprálová, Janáček, and Korngold songs.

Highlights of Corinne's career include her "wildly celebrated” (ORF) work with Slavic repertoire, including her debut at the Salzburger Festspiele in Barrie Kosky’s production of Káťa Kabanová, which garnered international acclaim, including an International Classical Music Award for Best Opera DVD and a Gramophone Award for Best Opera Recording. In addition to Salzburg, Corinne has performed Káťa at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Seattle Opera, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Janáček Brno International Festival, Staatsoper Stuttgart, and Opéra de Lyon. Seen and Heard International hailed her as “... the modern Katia of our generation,” while Resmusica called her “a benchmark for the role,” and Bachtrack described her as “flawless in the title role,” and praised the “the sumptuousness of her timbre, the naturalness of her melodic lines and the accuracy of her theatrical embodiment.” Other Slavic roles that have garnered praise include Jenůfa at the Royal Ballet and Opera, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, and Rusalka at the Wiener Staatsoper, Moniuszko’s Polish opera Halka at Teatro Real and Theater an der Wien, Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta at Oper Frankfurt, and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin.

She has also found great success with Italian repertoire, frequently performing Puccini and Verdi heroines for leading opera companies. Madama Butterfly has become a signature role, with RTS hailing her performance of the role in Geneva as “Stunning and flamboyant.” Past performances include productions at the Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Oper Frankfurt, La Monnaie / De Munt, and Grand Théâtre de Genève. Corinne has also performed Mimì in La bohème at The Metropolitan Opera, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, and La Monnaie / De Munt, the title role in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut (in concert) with Washington Concert Opera, and Violetta in La traviata, a role she performed frequently earlier in her career, taking her around the world to venues including  Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Royal Ballet and Opera House, Seattle Opera, Opera Australia, English National Opera, Opera Hong Kong, and Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, among others. She has performed in Puccini's Il trittico several times, performing all three heroines at Houston Grand Opera, Suor Angelica at Tiroler Festspiele Erl and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Giorgetta in Il Tabarro and Suor Angelica at La Monnaie / De Munt. Leoncavallo's  Nedda in Pagliacci was a recent addition to her repertoire, performed at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2026.

Other recent operatic highlights include, both title roles in a special double-bill production of Gluck's Iphigénie en Aulide and Iphigénie en Tauride at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, which won Best New Production at the 2024 Opera Awards, and Blanche de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

Her concert work has led to collaborations with outstanding orchestras, including performances of the final scene from Salome and Dvořák’s cantata The Spectre’s Bride with Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Vier letzte Lieder with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Münchner Philharmoniker, and Bamberger Symphoniker at the Wiener Musikverein, Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass with the Czech Philharmonic, both for the BBC Proms and the Dvořák Prague Festival, the soprano soloist in Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and a Slavic Opera Scenes gala with tenor Pavel Černoch for Smetanova Litomyšl. In recital, Corinne has performed at Grand Théâtre de Genève, Gstaad Music Festival, and the George London Foundation, where she was praised by Opera News as “a striking brunette who manages to be simultaneously gamine and seductress, reveal[ing] an arresting, uniquely plum-colored soprano that could pass for mezzo in the middle but explodes with vibrant color on top,” as well as the New York Festival of Song, Tucson Desert Song Festival, and Vocal Arts DC.
Recent recording projects include the title role in Esther, a rediscovered piece by Ukrainian composer Thomas de Hartmann with The Bournemouth Symphony and conductor Kirill Karabits for Pentatone, and a disc of Verdi duets with tenor Charles Castronovo and the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Constantine Orbelian, to be released in 2027.

Corinne earned a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the Peabody Conservatory and a Bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Towson University before appearing as a resident artist at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. As a master teacher and career mentor, Corinne enjoys sharing her passion for the craft with organizations such as Opera di Roma’s Fabbrica Young Artist Program, YoungArts Miami, Premiere Opera Foundation, National Student Opera Society UK, The University of Arizona, and her alma maters Towson University and the Peabody Conservatory, as well as her private voice studio, and has recently launched the Corinne Winters Mentorship Project, a free mentorship program to help up-and-coming singers bridge the gap between training and career.
