Constantin Trinks
Born in Karlsruhe, Constantin Trinks is widely recognised as one of today’s leading Wagner conductors. In the 2024/25 season, he debuted in Claus Guth’s Die Frau ohne Schatten, returned to Leipzig Opera for Siegfried, Deutsche Oper Berlin for Lohengrin, and Sofia Opera for Tannhäuser. He also appeared with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Munich Chamber Orchestra, and MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, with whom he recorded works by Wilhelm Petersen. Additional highlights included symphonic concerts with the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra (Ravel’s Mother Goose, Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegel) and Teatro di San Carlo.
In the 25/26 season, Constantin Trinks will make his debut at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genova with Don Giovanni, and the Hungarian State Opera with Parsifal, and return to the Vancouver Symphony and George Enescu Philharmonic orchestras. He leads a new production Imperial Ball at both the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Theater an der Wien’s Johann Strauss Festival, and a new production of Lortzing’s Regina at Oper Leipzig, and returns to Bayerische Staatsoper to conduct Don Giovanni. Trinks made a much-anticipated debut at Glyndebourne Festival in 2024 with Die Zauberflöte (Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment), and has conducted at leading houses including Royal Opera House London, Opéra National de Paris, Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro di San Carlo, and Theater an der Wien.
His award-winning discography includes Petersen 3 (OPUS Klassik 2023), Rott 1 (ECHO Klassik 2017), and recordings with Vienna RSO, RSB Berlin, and DSO Berlin. Trinks studied in Karlsruhe with Wolf-Dieter Hauschild and Kazushi Ono and held key posts at Saarländisches Staatstheater and Staatstheater Darmstadt.
