Matteo Peirone studied singing with Franca Mattiucci, Paolo  Montarsolo, Renata Scotto. He has won numerous opera competitions, including  the ASLICO Milano and the Verdi di Parma.
He has sung  in the main opera houses in Italy and abroad, distinguishing himself as the  interpreter of the main roles of basso buffo or brilliant and in other  character roles.

Constantly  invited by the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, he sang under the baton of Maestro  R. Muti in Le Nozze di Figaro both in Milan and Ravenna with the Wiener  Philarmoniker.

His activity  abroad is intense: Barbican Hall in London, Teatro de la Bastille in Paris,  Opera du Rhin in Strasbourg, Montpellier, ABAO in Bilbao, Seville, Staatsoper  in Dresden, Frankfurt, Opera in Bonn, Bunka Kaikan Tokyo, Palm Beach Opera.

He recorded  for Decca the role of the Sacristan in Tosca conducted by Zubin Metha and  with TDK: La Bohéme at La Scala and Xerses with les Talents Lyrique by Ch.  Rousset.

He sang the  role of Mamma Agata in the production of Viva la Mamma at the Semperoper in  Dresden, Dulcamara in L'Elisir d'amore in Tel Aviv, at the Palm Beach Opera  House in the USA,at the Regio di Parma, at the Festival Donizettiano di  Bergamo, Benoit/Alcindoro in La Bohéme for the Puccini year at La Scala, at  the Stresa Festival and for the Festival MITO, the Sagrestano in Tosca at the  Maggio Musicale in Florence, at the San Carlo in Naples, at the Opera in  Rome, in Bilbao, in Seville, at the Regio in Parma and at the Opera Bastille  in Paris.

In 2010, he  stayed for a long time in Japan where he performed with great success the  role of Dulcamara in L'Elisir d'Amore with the Donizetti Theatre of Bergamo  and Benoit/Alcindoro in La Bohéme at the Teatro Regio in Turin then on tour  in Tokyo, China and Shanghai for Expo 2010.

He sang the  role of Sagrestano in Tosca at the Opera Bastille in Paris and under the  baton of Gianandrea Noseda at the Teatro Regio in Turin and at the Verbier  Festival live on the world wide web. He has collaborated with some of the  greatest directors (Miller, Ronconi, Vick, Zeffirelli) and conductors  (Bartoletti, Dudamel, Metha, Muti, Noseda, Oren, Rizzi, Thielemann).

His recent  engagements include: La Bohéme in Paris, Amsterdam, Bari, Turin, Mumbay and  at the Edinburgh Festival, Le nozze di Figaro in Turin, Bari, Amsterdam,  Naples and Turin, Tosca and La bohème at the Teatro alla Scala, the Trittico  in Rome and London conducted by Antonio Pappano, Tosca at the Salzburg  Festival conducted by C. Thielemann, again La bohème at the Rome Opera and at  the Bayerische Staatsoper. Recent and future engagements include La bohème in  Muscat, Genoa, Turin, Cagliari, Naples, Saint Etienne and Paris, Tosca in  Salzburg, Palermo and Genoa, Manon Lescaut in Genoa and Cagliari, Gianni  Schicchi in Salzburg, Paris and Monte Carlo.
